Currently engaged on ongoing contracts on various railway related projects. All work is produced in full compliance with Network Rail standard NR/L2/ELP/27311, other relevant railway standards and British Standards. Particulars of these works include:

Heathrow Express DOO CCTV

Project Role - Contractors Responsible Engineer and Electrical Design Engineer.

Design, design management and specification of new power supplies and lighting for the incorporation of Driver Only Operation CCTV systems to the three stations at Heathrow. This included surveys of existing electrical distribution and platform lighting to ensure compliance with the requirements of DOO. The form EA and form EB submissions were accepted first time with no comments from NWR. Production of form E certificate.

Sussex, Kent and Wessex AHB PETS (Automatic Half Barrier Public Emergency Telephone Systems)

Project Role – Contractors Responsible Engineer and Electrical Design Engineer.

Design, design management and specification of new power supplies to 51 no. automatic half barrier PETS in the Sussex, Kent and Wessex areas, including many DC third rail areas. This included surveys of existing arrangements and the production of form EA and form EB design submissions. The form EB submissions were accepted first time with no comments from NWR. Production of form E certificate.

Marston Vale Signalling Centre

Project Role - Contractors Responsible Engineer and Electrical Design Engineer.

Design, design management and specification of new power supplies for new STS Concentrator communications equipment, this included a survey of existing arrangements and the production of form EA and EB design submissions. Production of form E certificate.

Station Information and Security Systems (SISS) to 32 LNE stations.

Project Role - Electrical Design Engineer

Design and specification of new power supplies for the new SISS to each station. This included surveys of existing arrangements and the production of form EB design submissions.

FTN & GSMR Framework

Project Role – Electrical Design Engineer

Provision of proforma and form EB designs for in excess of 50 sites for the permanent and generator back-up power supplies to REB, TEH and tunnel repeater installations around the country under the FTN & GSM-R framework agreement with the National Telecom Project Office (NTPO). These included many DC third rail and AC overhead areas.

Paddington Station VA/PA

Project Role – Electrical Design Engineer

Design and specification of new life safety power supplies for the revised station voice evacuation and fire alarm systems. This included surveys of existing arrangements and the production of form EA and form EB design submissions.

Starlaw, Newbridge & Lanark Points Heating Supplies

Project Role - Electrical Design Engineer.

Assisted with the design of new 400V, 230V and 110V power supplies to points heating installations at three locations in Scotland.

LNE Signalling Power Supply Upgrades

Project Role – Electrical Engineer.

Assisted with the production of a Testing & Commissioning Strategy for the upgrading of power supplies to Bradley, Huddersfield, Elland and Batley Principle Supply Points (PSP) along with associated, FSP, ASP and 650V feeder cables.

Project description

Drax Ecostore

A facility comprising 4 no. 100,000 tonne storage domes, rail unloading facilities, product conveyors, dust handling equipment and associated facilities for the storage, blending and delivery of biomass pellets to the power station burners. This included the design of :

• An 18 panel 11kV switchboard
• Six double ended package sub-stations each with two 2.2MVA transformers
• Sizing of cables to large VSD motors
• Above and below ground electrical distribution networks
• Installations in zone 22 areas
• Lighting and small power to transfer towers and buildings
• six static inverter emergency lighting systems
• six Guaranteed Instrument Supply Systems utilising 20kVA UPS
